Slow going to Hurst Castle |
Another slow day! Slow spinnaker run up the East Solent. Even slower beat up West Solent. Tide dragged us nicely into Hurst Castle anchorage. Brian even let me helm the boat a bit while he pretended to be a figurehead. He said he was just trying to lift the arse of the boat out the water, but I know better.
Walked the boat up and down the pebble beach to find a suitable anchorage and then relaxed a while. We kept getting messages from concerned followers that they were worried about how wet we were, but we had not been rained on at all - then the heavens opened and we hid under the mainsail for an hour and a half or so!
More noodles for dinner mixed with tin of beans. We know how to live.
Feeling the chill a bit waiting to get out of wet stuff. Our new normal.
The rain sort of stopped and we tried to get our sleeping stuff out for a night without the tent, but it started to rain again. Also we realised that we were on the move - anchor was dragging. We tried to re-anchor several times but it just would not hold. Eventually we tied to a bouy that turned out to be a visitors bouy. Tent went up as it got dark and we crashed out.
Good going boys. Not far to go!!😜😜
